Verse 3

Pick these rosy stars! Pick all of them. Chose among these bodies who hide behind the curtains, filled with pain.

FACT - Mayya is an Arabic word for "Water". The name of this song was inspired when AR Rahman heard a water seller in Hajj, Saudi Arabia shouting "Mayya Mayya".

It's not clear why the song is called Mayya (Water). A possible reference to the theme of desire and dreams - omnipresent in the movie as well.

When someone wishes for something so strongly, it almost becomes as important as water to them. They cannot live without it.
