Aashiyaan Lyrics

Verse 1

A bit of laughter

A bit of joy

A bit of the shining moon

Come lets make a home, With dreams made of straws

CONTEXT- The promise of new found love, building a new home is lyrically expressed in this song, where two lovers imagine a small little world, almost a nest of their own set in the idyllic arms of nature, full of love, laughter and joy. Money, opulence, mansions, nothing compares to the magic of a bit of the earth shared by two people who live on nothing else but coins of love. Such is the beauty of this song that renders love and togetherness

Verse 2

Stealthily, silently, Life comes slowly but steadily

With bolted lips, we lock it and walk away

Singing lonely songs, hiding away

Come lets share the halves, of this earth made in the shape of a heart

There will be a bit for you

There will be a bit for me, our home made of bits

TRIVIA- Most of the film was shot in the town of Darjeeling. The name Darjeeling was created from the Tibetan word, Dorje which means a Thunderbolt Sceptre. Known for its tea, the town produces 7 % of Indias tea output. The tea estates were established in as early as 1854. The most expensive tea ever made here was sold at Rupees 1.2 lakh (1,800$) per kg in the Makaibari estate

Verse 3

A house with no walls, yet tiny windows opening up

Draped with curtains made of clouds, the breeze from the Willow trees works like a fan

Without any conflict, Full of laughter and fun

Coins of love run this house every month

WORD- Jharokhe- Windows

TRIVIA- The soundtrack of this movie draws inspiration from Bossa Nova, which is a Brazilian genre of music. Bossa Nova is a mixture of jazz and samba music and originated in the 1930s. The word Bossa means something that is done with flair and style. The lyrical content in this genre mainly deals with women, love, youth and nature
