Tehelka Lyrics
Verse 1

On Tehelka, Naezy ponders upon the dismal state of Desi HipHop. He paints you a picture of the rappers who blindly follow the western culture.

Naezy talks about the rappers who wear American clothes but when they begin to rap, lyrically, they sound like kids.  Suggesting that, they’re not as skilled as you may think. If you ever wish to find fake rappers around, you’ll find 25,000 of them, all doing the same thing.

Naezy spoke to Dohaz about Tehelka – “I am fed of up the shallow lyricism in our rap scene and its high time now that it changes”.

Verse 2

Naezy attempts to push the boundaries of Indian HipHop. But all these other rappers keep doing the same old thing – pop bottles, drink alcohol and smoke cigarettes. They talk about the same thing again and again- Four bottles, eight bottles, it’s a never-ending phenomenon.

Referring to Yo Yo Honey Singh’s track- Chaar Botal Vodka. He wonders if they ever have something important to rap about? And reflects on what he can possibly do about this?

Naezy– “I don’t have anything against any specific rapper and I am not particularly taking shots at Honey Singh. My point is what is one going to learn by listening to chaar bottle vodka kaam mera rozka? There are a bunch of kids who follow mainstream rappers blindly”.

Verse 3

He’s heard too many rap songs that sound similar and he’s tired, fed up and bored now. Naezy asks these artists to not get on his nerves anymore and wants them to get lost. He tells them to get going faster because real hip hop isn’t their cup of tea.

He believes these other rappers just aren’t cut out to carry the movement forward. They have no connection with the rhythm, their motives are to run far away from the dictionary, suggesting that the words they use are too common.

They’re all lost in this maze and all they know is to sell music on which the entire country dances mindlessly. “I don’t understand what’s wrong with the masses”, Naezy said.

Verse 4

Naezy’s only duty is to make the people dance to the tunes of honesty and reality. He caught the world’s attention with his stand out, underground track – Aafat. Now he presents to you, Tehelka and says hello to the mainstream.

Verse 5

Naezy assures the listeners that he’s never going to stop writing. You saw him from his early days, compare that to the other rappers that you saw. He has no interest in being called a Guru.

He isn’t arrogant about this and doesn’t stress about anything. But he’s confident in his skills, he’ll rip apart the beat and tear up the story. Naezy focuses on his wins and not on his losses. He tries not to be a narcissist.

FACT- On this verse, Naezy raps 66 words in 14 seconds at an average of close to 5 words per second.

Verse 6

Whenever he’s at the club, Naezy makes sure he share’s wisdom with the stubborn folks. He gives songs a direction and identity. You can call him a mentor in this rap game but he isn’t taking any sins along.

If you ever question his stamina, he’ll hammer you with hard hitting words and make you dizzy. Some called him non-musical but he took it as a compliment.

After all he’s a rapper not a singer. He’ll handle the situation by accepting the criticism and admit that he’s half-witted. (pun intended)
