Set against the backdrop of the partition in 1947, Aazaadiyan describes how despite independence, certain sections of society were left isolated. 

Using Iron, lines of borders emerged here and on the other side. In the beginning the people began to applaud their new-found freedom and independence.

Begum Jaan was being pushed out of her own home. The scarves were left hanging on the ropes. The shirts were left behind in the villa. Where is the sense of decency and honour now?

Allah remained underneath the dome. The Lord was separated from them. Where is lord Ram now? They have no one to help them in their time of need.
